I can't remember the last time I worked on this category! My wtf has given me energy so I thought lets put it somewhere.
I munched on these during my wtf after many batches I finally made baked veggie chips crunchy! The secret is to peel thinly. What I did:
*preheat oven 275
*root veg like sweet potatoes, carrot, beet (yes even beet-yummy!)
*used a peeler
*sprayed a cookie sheet
*in a bowl mixed the peeled veg, 1 T of rice bran oil, cumin, sea salt, pepper
bake for about an hour-delicious and crunchy too!
I planned on starting it tomorrow(Tuesday) seeing I needed to get to the store to get the produce. However when I got home I was motivated to start. Started with a green drink. Not too bad but I don't think I added enough liquid because it was the consistency of applesauce. Debating if I should get the nutribullet, I have a Ninja blender so maybe at the end of this week I will decide.
Okay so my last 30 day wtf (well that failed) didn't fair so well. Clearly my energy is too low to want to be active save for a few times we walk. About 15 years ago I spent an entire year juicing. Not once during that time did I get sick with a cold, the flu or any other ailment that was being passed around at work. I had plenty of energy to get to the gym at 4:30, walk to and from work 2 miles total and work part time on top of my full time job. Granted I'm 15 years older I'm sure I will notice an energy level increase; my hope.
I see it's all the rage now which has me to think this is something I should revisit. Only this time it won't be actual juicing as I no longer have mine, which is fine. Dumping the pulp was difficult for me as I hate to waste even if it was going to composting. I bought the Ninja Blender awhile back and absolutely love it! I will be blending my fruits and veggies this time. Going to try out the first 3 days of the 15 day Reboot with Joe Cross and maybe add some recipes that came with the Ninja. Tomorrow I go produce shopping and will update after the 3 days are up!
Yard hale/hell-ehem "sale". For the most part it was great!
What I've learned for the next time:
*Saturday only- the lack of customers isn't worth the amount of work (currently, after about 2hrs of opening I have made $16.05 out of my $80 goal.-told dh (dear husband or damn husband if you prefer) I guessed we'd rake in $300)
Even discussed with another neighbor next year same time we will all have a barbeque after our sales! So a Saturday only sale plus a barbeque will be enough for one weekend.
*Lots of change! Love those customers picking up $ 0.50 or less items hoping I don't have change to break a $20 and I'll just say "Go ahead and just take it."
My change was a roll of quarters, $50 in fives, and $40 in ones; perfect amount thus far.
*Have a little jazz music in the background-music helps people relax and not too mention for those that feel 'weird' rummaging through someone else's things
*Stage- sales is all about presentation! I've had a few comment how mine is one of the nicest and most organized. I had a living room section and it was decorated with knickknacks you'd find in a living room. (too bad the house wasn't this organized)
*Sell food and drinks! Learned this one from the neighbor's little girls. I saw a line form in front of their lemonade/brownie stand! EVEN had a family return to the neighbors' to purchase more goods after they came over to my place to eat!
Already told my neighbor, "Guess we're gonna have a bake off!" (may have to enlist help from my friend Jen who bakes!)

Okay for the Pièce de résistance:
If someone buys something they must take it with them...we're not PS!
A woman who hardly spoke English (frankly I think it's a low baller ploy) kept saying $5 every time I said a table set was $8. After going back and forth a few times, I finally gave in and stated (hmm maybe she's onto something) $6. As she's handing me the money she points to my garage and says to "put there, back at afternoon." Then ran off!
She didn't come back "at afternoon" I was going to leave it outside but just thought great she might be a litigious nut and somehow find a reason to sue me. Dh decided to put tables in garage. "At afternoon" turned into 9 A.M. the next day. What if we were at church or just not home? She THEN had dh break it down to fit in her car, great he accidentally scratches it and we become the next litigants on People's Court ( I heart judge Milian- I digress) She even was poking around in our garage!
*so someone buys it they must remove it before leaving the property.
An hour left! $58.95 to go...
Sale complete and I made $242.50! The general goods are loaded up in the van to go to Good Will, a few kitchen appliances and baby items will be in large bundles placed on Craigslist; I may even give Ebay a shot.
Good thing the next sale is a year away-
p.s. I'm pooped~
